The Safe Company.
The Safe Company was first established in 1988 and acquired by Insafe in 1996. The need for high-level safe engineers was ever present and The Safe Company had staff members to fill that space and more importantly to set-up our first Insafe Training Academy. The in-house Safe Engineer and Electronic Locks Training Academy made sure each and every engineer and locksmith we had, and still have, is trained to our incredibly high standards. Furthermore the knowledge we have gained has given us the ability to design bespoke safes to meet customers needs.
Loksafe were a safe and lock supplier and servicing company based in the South West and were bought to create a triangle of offices to better serve customers throughout the whole of the UK. The North was covered by our Insafe office and warehousing in Wolverhampton and all were overseen by our Head Office and Warehouses in Tunbridge Wells.
Cyrus Price was established in Wolverhampton in 1840 and led the way in safe making.
At the International Exhibition held in London in 1862, Messrs. Cyrus Price and Co., first placed their safes in open competition with the world’s leading makers, where the excellent qualities of their Holdfast and Fire-resisting safes and patent locks gained the prize medal awarded for new and special improvements. In 1869 this success was repeated at Wolverhampton, and was followed by an award of the only prize medal at Cardiff in 1888, and a gold medal for second order of merit at Melbourne, 1888-89.
Cyrus Price changed hands and names eventually being renamed Guardian Safe & Steel Furniture Company with a factory at Giggety Bridge, Wombourne before becoming Guardian Safes.
Guardian Safes were based in Bristol and with a great team of Safe Engineers and Locksmiths have been a strong asset to us. We ran Guardian Safes alongside Insafe for many years before keeping the Guardian name for a range of our safes and merging the company and staff into Insafe.
GB Safes and GB Security.
Insafe acquired Wolverhampton’s safe maker – GB Safes, in the spring of 2013 and we are now the only British company that manufactures, installs and services safes.
A large range of high quality safes are manufactured at our factory in the West Midlands. And because we manufacture our own products not only can we confidently offer a full product guarantee on all safes, but we can also produce bespoke items – even special sizes!
With the additional warehousing of GB Safes the Insafe Groups ability to supply and service safes to the entire UK has been fulfilled.
