To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week we’re introducing you to a couple of our amazing apprentices!
The training program runs for a period of 24 months during which time the candidate learns the range of skills required to enable him/her to become a skilled field service engineer.
At the end of the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be eligible to join the Insafe Service Team as a field service engineer. However, training and assessment will continue throughout the engineer’s employment.
Lewis Day joined Insafe back in August 2018 as an apprentice to focus on the electronic security side of the business. Lewis is trained on the various Paxton systems that we supply and has been on multiple large scale installations with the rest of the team since joining.
Lewis is based in our Decimus Warehouse unit in Tunbridge Wells and is also a member of the safe preparation team, learning first hand what is needed to install all ranges of locking systems to our wide range of safes.
Alongside his apprenticeship, Lewis is studying for a diploma in mechanical engineering at college, he also plays rugby for Tunbridge Wells Academy and is training for his black belt in judo!
On his apprenticeship Lewis says, “I have enjoyed every minute of working at Insafe and look forward to the future”.
Henry Norrie is an Apprentice Fabricator / Welder at our Britannia Works Factory and joined the Insafe manufacturing in April 2018.
He is also studying Welding & Fabrication Level 3 NVQ at Wolverhampton College alongside his apprenticeship and when’s not working you can find him playing squash and rugby!
“I enjoy learning welding at Insafe. The work is varied which brings daily challenges and gives me the opportunity to progress in my trade with the support of the company and the college. I am looking forward to qualifying in 2020”.
