Alan Bullock is the Founder & CEO of Insafe International Ltd, Chair of Eurosafe UK and Founder of InSec. He established Insafe in 1985 and remains Chief Executive today, providing the company with overall leadership, strategy and direction.
Remaining hands-on within the business, Alan’s diverse role ranges from managing annual budgets and creating sales targets to overseeing marketing operations, working with the technical team to design and innovate new security products, maintaining long standing relationships with suppliers and contractors and nurturing new talent within the industry through mentoring and the Insafe Training Academy. Alan also manages the company’s charity, the Insafe Foundation, which is a cause that’s close to his heart.
With experience spanning over 40 years in the security business, Alan’s expertise and knowledge of the industry are unparalleled. Before setting up Insafe at the age of just 26, Alan spent eight years at Chubb & Sons Lock and Safe Company Ltd. He was initially employed as their first ever Business Trainee, gaining experience in every department, before becoming their youngest ever Salesman.
Having founded Insafe upon the principals of providing innovative, problem solving products, combined with exceptional customer service, Alan has personally guided the company’s development and growth year on year for it to become the UK’s leading and biggest independent safe and safe lock company. Insafe acquired Loksafe in 2001, Guardian Safes in 2003 and most recently GB Safes in 2013, marking a return to UK safe manufacturing. In 2016 Insafe was identified by the London Stock Exchange as one of the ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’.
A key figure in the security industry, Alan has built long-standing relationships with organisations and testing houses, including The Security Institute (SyI), The Association of Insurance Surveyors (AiS), The Master Locksmiths Association (MLA), The British Standards Institute (BSI) and the Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB).
Alan is the Chair of Eurosafe UK, an organisation dedicated to improving testing and standards in the security industry and the Founder of the the Insurance and Security Forum (InSec), an annual event bringing insurers and security professionals together.
Alan lives in Tunbridge Wells with his wife Clare Easterling and their two dogs. When he’s not working he loves travelling, especially to visit his three daughters who live in Norfolk, New York and Edinburgh. As well as spending time with his family, Alan enjoys swimming, cycling, boxing, going to music concerts and supporting his beloved Wolverhampton Wanderers!
